Dr. Robinson’s journey to becoming an oncologist started early on in life, when she saw how her mother took care of her grandmother as she battled metastatic esophageal cancer. Her time spent performing research focusing on sphingolipids and their role in the mechanisms of resistance to imatinib in chronic myeloid leukemia, gave her the assurance that hematology and oncology was the medical specialty that she wanted to pursue. She feels that treating patients with cancer is very challenging and exciting, especially since this field is constantly evolving with new treatments and clinical trials, but to make a difference in the life of someone else while they are dealing with such a life-changing condition, is what she loves about oncology the most. Dr. Robinson has special interests in breast and lung cancers.
