In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Gupta is a specialist in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and microscopic colitis). He actively conducts scientific research focused on advancements in diagnostic testing and clinical trials with new drug therapies. For patients with inflammatory bowel disease, he performs a special staining colonoscopy, called chromoendoscopy, using a dye that improves the detection of pre-cancerous lesions.
